This came by way of a university mailing list. Mentor a kid interested in
learning about computers for a few hours. "no specific guidlines" or may I
say, OS.

Subject: mentors for 4th grade students and Patterson Elementary School

Cheri,
I am writing to inquire about the possibility of
students or faculty who may be interested in mentoring
a child for 6 hours. There are several students who
are interested in learning about computer games,
graphic design, etc. There are no specific
quidelines, other than the 6 hour time commitment and
the mentor would have to pass a criminal records
check. The 6 hours can be arranged however best suits
the child and mentor. The child will come up with
what he or she hopes to learn fromt he experience and
work together with the mentor to do so in a way that
is suitable for the child's age level. We are trying
to set up possible mentors before spring break so I
would appreciate your response as soon as possible,
howver, I understand that this is short notice. We
are getting down to the last few kids and having
difficulty finding mentors and thought that the
University might be a possible resource. Please let
me know what you think and if you have any other
questions. You can also reach me by phone at 345-5492
Thank you,
Laurie, Family School Parent
