It could be the CD, Most of my computers will boot cd's, but some wont boot
some of the newer cd's (such as slack 8.1, while they do boot slack 8.0 cd's
fine.) I dont know what the specific issue is, but some bootable cd's wont
boot on some computers that do boot CD's. Ive noticed that Its the
motherboard that makes the difference (not the CDROM drive, or the CD
itself).
Clinics are held on Thursdays, we welcome you to bring your comptuer in then.
Saturdays are when we hold the monthly meetings, and we dont really do
computer help, rather we do more instruction/demo related talks (which are
worthy of attention too... its just not a time/place for tech support...)

Once upon a time there was a DOS user who saw Unix, and saw that it was
good. After typing cp on his DOS machine at home, he downloaded GNU's
unix tools ported to DOS and installed them. He rm'd, cp'd, and mv'd
happily for many days, and upon finding elvis, he vi'd and was happy. After
a long day at work (on a Unix box) he came home, started editing a file,
and couldn't figure out why he couldn't suspend vi (w/ ctrl-z) to do
a compile.
