Seriously, the way I did this was by using a special /sbin/loader binary
with debugging hooks that I made ("dd" is your friend: binary editors
are for wimps).

Not any more, but ive had 6 on one hard disk. to simplify things I limit
myself to 3 distro's to keep from having to use exteneded partitons (this is
where things can get really messy).
