I would assume that you can install 9.1 on top of the existing 9.0, some kind of update install.
I give Mandrake the benefit of the doubt, and assume that the result would be a new kernel, and updated basic Apps.
I question whether the bonus Power Pak Apps would still be viable.
Would this person consider upgrading to the new 9.1 Power Pak, if available?
I know that for Suse, I recently ordered the upgrade for SuSe 8.2 Pro (qualifying as a current user of the older SuSe 7.1 Pro ) AND getting a nice price break $49.95 vs. $79.95
But many folks don't want to pay a penny extra, if possible.
Personally, I feel that by purchasing directly from the vendor ( SuSe in this case), I put some money in their pocket and acknowledge that their distro is worthy and support them in the best possible way.

P.S. I understand that you are a cheese head now. Or, maybe a cheddar head?

A friend has the Mandrake 9.0 power pack he bought this last fall. he wants to upgrade to 9.1. Is there an easy way to do this short of buying a new power pack. I thought there was a updater or upgrader? Does anyone know about how he would go about doing this?
