That's because you only use Win98 on your client's boxes :)

And yes, /mnt/cdrom & /dev/cdrom both point to
/dev/cdroms/cdrom0 (Gentoo)
How else would Grip work? Grip functions as a CD player too and
you can see the progress. If I were up for digging around for an
audio cable I could do it the easy way but I want it DMA if
available. I prefer a minimal amount of cabling in my systems.
