Hey, I'm a member of the class that won the class action lawsuit against Microsoft in California. I'm entitled to a $16 refund for the copy of Windows 98 that was preinstalled on my laptop.
This is exciting, not because it's a lot of money (but it's enough for eight EFN raffle tickets) but because it's money taken from our favorite criminal monopoly. Anyway, check whether you're eligible for a settlement too. Here's the relevant bit from the web page. > How do I know if I am a member of the class who is entitled to share > in these benefits? > > The "class period" that is the period of time within which you need > to have made your purchases is from February 18, 1995 through > December 15, 2001.
