Hey, I'm a member of the class that won the class action lawsuit
against Microsoft in California.  I'm entitled to a $16 refund for
the copy of Windows 98 that was preinstalled on my laptop.

This is exciting, not because it's a lot of money (but it's enough for
eight EFN raffle tickets) but because it's money taken from our
favorite criminal monopoly.

Anyway, check whether you're eligible for a settlement too.  Here's
the relevant bit from the web page.
