Quite frankly I do think there's enough there to make the idea of a class action
suit (several of them, in fact) more than just plausible.
Some possible avenues: a. contributory negligence b. attractive nuisance c. recovery of damages
If your business has incurred losses because of Microsoft's knowingly releasing
insecure software, (whose insecurity they were in a position to profit from,and did)
that affected the operation of your network, particularly if services which were not reliant
on Microsoft software to run were rendered unavailable due to compromised windows
hosts spewing garbage. Then you are entitled to relief.
The legal system is our society's method for redressing wrongs, if we don't even attempt
to use it for that purpose then we are failing at the most important job of a citizen.
