Oh, the crash bit. I have a sure-fire method for that:
shutdown -h now
^^^
Too many users try '-r' instead of '-h' there, and if you want your computer
(or a friend's) to stay in a _more_stable_ state, try '-h' -- after that, it
won't crash until you mess with it again!
