-Marconi is my router.
Adaptec QFE card + Prism 2.5 wireless PCMCIA card, routing between cable modem, local network, neighbors in the duplex, and neighbors across the alley. Named cause it's got a radio in it.
-Obsidian is my file server.
Dual PII 300s on an off-brand 440FX mobo, with an Intel gigabit fiber adapter and 2x 160gb Maxtor drives connected via firewire, in Garl's nice external SCSI cage. Named cause it used to be in a black case, and I like the name so I kept it after it moved.
-Stubbs is my Snort box.
Sniffs incoming Comcast traffic of a hub that the cable modem + router are connected to. Logs to a MySQL database on Obsidian via a port on the internal network. Named because it's a stubby little NetPC.
-Lanczos is my LAN box.
Used for friends that want to come over and game. Named after one of Einsein's research assistants in Berlin who did some interesting work on numerical analysis. Picked cause he's cool and has LAN in his name :)
-Dinner is my main desktop.
Dual Athlon 2000xp, 1gb RAM, GF4 TI6400. Friends used to have Breakfast and Lunch, now I'm the only one in the scheme. I still use it cause my main box has been named that for years and years.
-Brad

Our OpenBSD web servers are named after plant genuses that have psychotropic properties. They are passiflora, mimosa, acorus, and trichocereus. I always thought that was kind of unique.
