I am almost in the same boat, avoiding floppies like the plague.
I use a couple different mini-cd bootable distro's for rescue when needed,
however... I would like to say, though, that this group is not exclusive to
linux. We're 'officially' (ha!) the Eugene Unix/Gnu Linux User's Group,
which means that our scope is more broad than the average LUG. The Unix/GNU
bit means we respect Stallman (GNU = GNU's Not Unix) and then we'll at least
recognize and acknowledge anything else related to *nix variants.
Any of the BSD's, OS X, Solaris, you name it, it belongs here... heck, we
just had a discussion about M$'s unix services for 'doze!

On that note, those non-/.'ers among you might want to see this, if you
*ever* have to toil with 'doze systems:

"Live Windows Bootable CDs for Sysadmins", about BartPE. Not all new news,
but hey it's new to me! = )

regards,

   Ben
