As most of you know, O'Reilly's Open Source Convention is in Portland
again this year.
If you can find money to attend or you can get your employer to spring
for the bill, I recommend attending. And to make things better,
O'Reilly is offering a good discount to locals - which I assume means
any member of any of the LUGs in Oregon and Southwest Washington - AND
of course, you all know how you can become a member of PLUG or MWVLUG or
ELUG. (We all have real tight membership rules. You must be willing to
say you are a member.)

P.S. PLUG is talking to O'Reilly about providing them with
volunteers like we did last year - but PLEASE don't regard this as
a cheap alternative to paying to attend. We like having the
conference in Portland and want to see O'Reilly do well on the
conference. I hope we can get some volunteer positions for people,
but only for people who can not afford to attend normally.
