Oh god yes. SpamAssassin == LoadAssassin. Scalability is Right Out. We had three dedicated hosts at efn chewing on LoadAssassin jobs, with a MySQL backend, and it still dropped a bunch of traffic unfiltered. It probably works fine for a smaller shop, but with nearly 20,000 usernames receiving spam it Just Wasn't The Right Tool. We were exploring outsourcing our spam filtration to Postini (http://www.postini.com) after a positive review from another ISP's admin, but events overtook us. -- On two occasions I have been asked [by members of Parliament!], `Pray, Mr. Babbage, if you put into the machine wrong figures, will the right answers come out?'
