I knew this guy once upon a time, and still know a whole lot of people who know him well. His Republican values might make a few people uncomfortable, but remember that politics makes strange bedfellows: he was a supporter of the Senate version of our Open Source bill last year. So be sure to thank him for that, and try to ignore the parts you don't like.
