I believe this is actually a Conexant Fusion Bt878a.  It may have issues
with ACPI.  I think I remember reading something about this in the
btwincap driver.  The card I have has this chip, but it doesn't affect
me, since I don't use ACPI in Linux, and ACPI isn't supported in
OpenBSD. 

It might not hurt to check out what other chips are on the card.  The
bttv driver uses some other helper modules.  I doubt they're being
autoloaded, since you can't find mention of the card in the bttv
sources.

left click in the xawtv window.  it's the "Capture" options.

I've noticed that in overlay mode, when other windows overlap the xawtv
window, the picture can go black.
