I just recently started learning PHP, and so far I really enjoy it.
Prior to this (PHP), the only coding experience I've had was a little
rudimentary Python. I know my way around HTML/CSS pretty well, though
I know that is not logic. But I think having knowledge of HTML/CSS
will be helpful in learning and using PHP/MySQL. Anyways, I was
thinking it might be fun to start a small coding study group. We could
all meet on Saturday mornings, and work on programming issues. I don't
know if we would focus on one particular language, or if we could all
just share and help each other with the logic, and conceptual issues,
but it would be a lot of fun, and helpful to those of us teaching
ourselves to code to have others to bounce ideas off, and to have
their perspective shared. As far as day, time, and place, that could
be discussed. Initially I would just like to see if there is even
enough interest in a special interest type group like this. If you
would like to try this, post to the list. Maybe also disclose what
languages and tools you work with, or want to learn, and what your
personal goals relative to learning to code are. I personally would
like to, if interest is sufficient, focus on the L.A.M.P. paradigm.
Linux, Apache, MySQL, and Perl, PHP, or Python. Thanks, Bryan
