Since my previous attempt to get some consensus about meeting times and
places seems to have resulted primarily in an argument about who is and is
not a terrorist, and who the U of O should offer wireless access to, I
will now attempt to wrench the discussion back to its original purpose
with a concrete proposal.
I propose that all who are interested meet this Thursday (Oct. 21) at the
EMU Buzz. The business portion of the meeting will commence at 7:30 or
thereabouts (that being the earliest some people can make it), though
people are welcome to gather earlier if they want.
Topics to be settled:
* Do we want to continue meeting weekly, or switch to monthly meetings?
(The original purpose of the Thursday meeting was to have knowledgeable
Linux geeks available to help with Linux questions and problems. There
doesn't seem to have been much of that recently.)
* Where is our new official meeting place? If we unable to come up with
an answer during the meeting, we should probably assign people to
research and report on specific options again.
* Monthly presentations: We need to get these going again, especially if
we decide to switch to monthly meetings. Anybody have a topic you're
yearning to talk about? Anybody have a topic you're yearning to learn
about?
