That's not it.  I would help if I could.  I think you need to
have someone visit you.  Debugging things like this without
seeing the screen is very difficult.

The command is "ls", not "-ls".  I think that is what happened here.

I think it may be possible that your office program is a piece of
crap.  As I recall you reported that other programs worked, just
that one failed.  Maybe you should switch to something that works.
Someone else suggested this.  I think it was a good idea.
