Hi all,
I'd like to backup my 20GB laptop's harddrive to my samba fileserver, but I've
been running into a 2GB limit. I can create a 3GB file with dd when logged
into the server via ssh, but trying the same thing over a samba mount gives me
a "File size limit exceeded" error. I've been googling, but I haven't been
able to find anything helpful.

According to this page, (https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-list/2004-January/msg00177.html) samba has a 2 gb file size limit. From what I've gathered, that's regardless of the underlying fs type.
