thanks for the offer. i will need to give it some thought, i will do a cost benefit analysis to determine if the value of the info. there is not a lot there since almost everything else was backed up, but there are a few tidbits. one of my co-workers hooked the drive up to notron system (wintel) works and it finally reconized the drive and was scanning it to see if it could find some files. it is at work right now ( i am at home so in the near future i will see if it found anything. if not i might take you on your offer. let me see if norton has helped and give it some thought as to the value of the info to me. i will email you back later if i choose to move forward . regarding time, i formatted a different drive as a boot drive so time is not of the essence to get it returned back to me. thanks mr. o
