Only High Definition tuners will be illegal. Standard Definition tuners will, AFAIK, still be legal.
Still, if you're thinking you might want to watch HDTV sometime in the future, now is the time to buy the tuner card.

One could buy this TV tuner kit and purchase a Mac mini as well. Then upgrade the Mac Mini to more RAM and a faster Superdrive dual format DVD burner. If you need professional installation, I recommend Mr. O's Computerbase shop in Eugene.
