I agree.  I am running stock Debian.  No proprietary drivers at
all.  That rules out the Nvidia graphics cards.  Instead I am
using an ATI FireGL X1.  No problems.  I'm running 1920x1200.

My previous graphics card was a Rage128.  Worked fine except that
it is only AGPx2 and so is not compatible with my new mother.
