Good question. Woody will keep getting security updates for another 12 months, then after that it will be abandoned. So we need to get Sarge in sometime in the next 12 months, unless we want to clean up a breakin. (I do not want to do that. Ever.) We're currently running a hand-installed mailman there, so we're hand-applying mailman updates. (We've only done one in the last year, I think.) It would be nice to use Debian's automatic update feature to apply future mailman updates. That's why it NEEDS to run Sarge. It WANTS to run Sarge because Sarge is newer, shinier and better. (-: Right now, Sarge even appears kind of new and shiny compared to other Linux distros. In six months, it won't. Are you expecting any issues migrating the web site to newer versions of Apache, PHP and MySQL? Maybe the right thing to do is to build a new box w/ sarge and migrate our stuff onto the new box. Maybe the right thing to do is to get all the intersted parties into a room and decide what the right thing to do is. -- Bob Miller K<bob> kbobsoft software consulting http://kbobsoft.com [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ EUGLUG mailing list [email protected] http://www.euglug.org/mailman/listinfo/euglug
