Tech Brew Pub moves to new venue: Thursday, June 16, 5:30-7:30pm, Rogue Tap House, Downstairs Room, 844 Olive Street (formerly West Bros) There is no charge. Yes it?s true... All the fun you could possibly want to have on a Thursday night is back! Once again the SAO is hosting this networking opportunity for tech professionals (and others) who are interested in a casual meeting environment. Since this is our first TBP in a while and we?re at a new location, we are going to ?test the waters? by keeping things as simple as possible. There won?t be any scheduled presenters for this event, however don?t be too surprised if I try and get an informal discussion going to hear everyone?s opinions on various topics affecting us all. Thanks to Rogue for letting us use their downstairs room for our meeting. James, the kindly manager, has offered for us to get Hoppy Hour (Happy Hour) prices on pints along with their excellent food line-up not normally available at this time of day. It?s been a while ? it would be great if all the familiar faces could stop in and say hello. Hope to see you there! Matt Jarvis, President/SAO Lane Chapter Partnering with Research for New Products: Tuesday, June 28, 8:00-10:00am, Eugene Hilton Our topic this month is ?Partnering with Research for New Products. The event speaker, John Sechrest will discuss current initiatives underway at the SAO chapter in Corvallis involving partnerships with OSU for new products. Mr. Sechrest is the R+D manager of Alpha Omega computer systems. He previously founded PEAK, a local ISP. There are many different ways where University work and high tech business interests align. This will be a discussion of ways that business and universities can find mutual benefit. Mr. Sechrest will share some best practices and other tips, based on the experiences of the Corvallis SAO initiative to date. ?Partnering with Research for New Products? is being sponsored by the law firm, Gleaves Swearingen Potter and Scott and US Bank. The cost for the event, which includes breakfast is $20 for those who pre-register by Monday June 27th and $25 at the door.
