Geoff Burling gave an interesting talk last Thursday to PLUG in
Portland on Wikipedia which some which way runs a large organization
with numerous servers and lots of band width; and does all of this
with significant in-kind donations and very little cold hard cash.
A lot of Open Source organizations (including PLUG and FreeGeek) run
this way. I have been trying make a list of truly major OpenSource
organization that do this.
So far I have:
Debian
FreeNode.net Their budget is about $25,000 plus in kind donations.
Wikimedia
Please help me add to this list.
(Believe it or not - I actually have a reason for asking this question.)
