If you haven't seen subethaedit in action it brings a whole new meaning
to collaboration. It's amazing to watch, actually. I attended OSCON
2004 and all those with Mac laptops would find each other and edit a
document that described the session we were currently in. Those in the
same room would connect together over the network and edit the same
document. In subethaedit you see the complete doc and see changes as
others are making them. It hightlights different people with different
colors. So this whole document is changing in many places at once as
you're editing it. I think subethaedit uses rendevous to find other
people on the network with the app open and you can see a list of files
that are available to collaborate on. Similar to iTunes and how it
lists others on the network with iTunes open.
I thought I read somewhere recently that they're working on a Linux
version of this. Can't remember where or what that was, though.
