Ive downloaded both the live cd, and the install cd, and both have failed to
boot on the 2 computers Ive tried them on. I did check the md5 sums, and burned
several cd's. Im currently trying to burn the dvd iso, but its going horribly
slow (looks like several hours to burn the disk at this rate)... actually looks
like days! (1/2 hour and the disk is at 2%).
Ive been trying to re-install linux on my laptop for the last couple days, and
its been a real pain in the ass. I like slackware, but getting the wifi working
in on 10.2 is all messed up (10.1 was difficult, but with 10.2, you have to
build your own kernel (not stock), and you have to do a bunch of editiing of
the kernel source to replace stuff that has changed,... its horrible.
so... I have slackware installed, and on the wire (i hate the wire...) I
figured I'd install ubuntu on it, as the previous version worked great (wifi,
everything right off the live cd)
So... anyone have any tips to make it easy to install the ipw2100 drvier for
slackware, or how I can get one of the new ubuntu cd's to work, or even how to
fix my dvdr to burn this iso (ubuntu 5.1 dvd) (i'd like to not waste all day to
burn 1 disk...)
