That could be fun if we could structure it as something better than
just a religious war.
A format that might work: we could get four volunteers with laptops,
get them to install Distro X, and test them for That Which Is
Currently Hard on Linux - WiFi w/ WPA, Suspend/hibernate, X on
external monitors, photo printing, running Quake, IPtables firewall,
and/or whatever. With a time limit and with lots of help from the
distro advocates.
