My advice would be what Bob suggested (sorry, I didn't get that one, probably sent straight to you) and go with a bridge. Using an AP in Bridge mode requires one that supports it, and that would make it a bit more expensive. I did a quick check and you can find a bridge anywhere from $70 for an Asus to $110 for a Linksys that can use 802.11a, b, or g.

Most of them have software for a variety of systems, or use a browser, to configure them, especially for the encryption and password authentication for your wireless network.
