KDE has too many buttons and knobs to be useful.
Gnome typically has too few, unless you go digging in the Wind--er, I mean
Gnome Regis--er, gconf. The problem I run into is when the thing I want
to change doesn't have an entry in gconf or that I don't know where it is.
This is where I wish Gnome were more Mac-like. On a Mac, I can pretty
easily edit the plist for a GUI application to expose the non-idiot-proof
options that affect it. I don't have to go digging through gconf by hand.
