what video editing programs are you using?  I'm using ffmpeg,
libquicktime, mjpegtools and transcode on amd64.  the latest
releases of these (well, ffmpeg cvs snapshot from 7 months ago,
since they rarely make actual releases) all have very solid
x86_64 support/acceleration.

I am the port maintainer for these packages for OpenBSD.  I am
also the maintainer of the stable CVS line of transcode.

maybe I can help answer some questions?
