Yeah, i was actually thinking about that when i got them, but i guess 
being brand new, unopended, non-refurb... that it would be ok this 
time... I still havnt called maxtor or fry's... I did spend a bunch of 
the day checking the drives out. 

Now one drive wont pass post with it connected. Ive looked over the 
disk, and it turns out to be a different model than the other (working) 
one! the box's are identical (I checked every number on them), but the 
drives are different. one is 6L200S0, the good one is 6L200M0. 
After looking things over, it looks like one came from singapore, and 
one from china. 

well... I guess i'll deal with it in the morning. so far, im totally 
unimpressed with SATA. my maxtor 160 GB IDE (on an ata100 controller) is 
faster than my brand new 200gb SATA 150. I saw something about sata II 
being 300MB/s, if i could see that kind of performance difference, then 
sata might be worth the trouble, but then, i dont know if i need 
faster...
