True, I forgot about being able to run multiple VM's in workstation. I only used work station to remove a windows machine off my desk. I.E I was only running one VM ( Windows ).
If you look at the VMware Data Sheets for Workstation, GSX and ESX. Workstation says it supports the same Processor as the host computer. So if you have two CPU's or a multicore system do you get the same in Workstation? I did see under PC Hardware it says "Multiprocessor systems supported". I think it is unclear if you get a 1 for 1 match in VMware. GSX says "Single processor per virtual machine on symmetric multiprocessor systems" I think that clearly says one processor per VM. ESX says "Virtual Intel or AMD x86 based uniprocessor system" and "Virtual Intel or AMD x86 based 2-way system (with VMware Virtual SMP add-on module)" So I guess with ESX you can have SMP VM's but only with the Vitrual SMP add-on module. I don't know if GSX supports SAN storage. I know ESX supports SAN storage and booting from SAN storage.
