PHP Web Architect, Eugene, OR | 50-70k All candidates must have significant professional experience developing complex, database-driven PHP applications. This is a challenging position and is not suitable for novice or entry-level programmers. As the application uses a database backend and runs on UNIX, experience with SQL (MySQL experience is desirable) and UNIX/Linux is required.
The candidate will be responsible for creating sophisticated web applications where usability is a necessity. The candidate must have strong intrapersonal skills and be able to find the ideal way to implement requirements in a clean, elegant way. Writing reusable code that can be scaled and extended is important while using object-oriented design where possible. Functional tests will be written to validate the correctness of the code. The candidate must be motivated, willing to offer opinions, and have the desire to understand the business requirements behind their projects. The candidate must also possess a strong desire to learn and the have the ability to quickly identify optimal solutions. Candidates should be able to provide examples of web applications and/or frameworks that they have developed, to discuss practical and theoretical consequences of design choices. Qualifications * Professional experience developing/architecting PHP-based web applications * A working understanding of PHP development frameworks, templates, and design patterns * SQL and a good knowledge of client-server architecture a must * Proven experience designing browser-based GUIs, writing usability tests, and incorporating user feedback * Web page design with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS * Experience with Scrum development approach a plus * Experience administrating Apache in a Linux environment is a plus This is a full time, salaried, on-site position in Eugene, Oregon.
