I think thats pretty standard. I helped my brother in San Diego setup his internet with a local ISP, and they were pretty cool, they said linux, no problem, and I was welcome to come into thier office if i needed help. The above exception, and EFN/OPN are the only times ive gotten no problem with linux. They all seem to use scripts to solve tech issue, and if you cant do what they ask in the scripts they cannot help you (and the scripts are specific to mac or windows). Sometimes you can just lie, and tell them your doing what they ask, only you interpret when they say open internet explorer, you open mozilla, .... Really it comes down to ISP's that use Propietary Software to connect (such as AOL, Compuserve, ...) I wouldnt be surprised if someone has figured out how to use wine and AOL...but basicly those are the ones you cannot use with linux/bsd. > > > > > > > > > -- > > http://Zoneverte.org -- information explained > > Do you know what your IT infrastructure does? > > > > > > > > > -- > > http://Zoneverte.org -- information explained > > Do you know what your IT infrastructure does? > > > > _______________________________________________ > > EUGLUG mailing list > > [email protected] > > http://www.euglug.org/mailman/listinfo/euglug > > > > > > > > > -- > Edward P.
