Man, I feel like such a moron sometimes....
Not that I like OO or anything, but it's a bit embarrasing to be the
only one around here running OO.1 (everyone else has windows w/ OO2)..
Trying to install OO 2 on my Slackware machine running KDE desktop....
following the directions AFAIK everything went just like it should...
OO.2 ended up in my Office menu folder on my KDE menu (OO.1 is still
there) but when I try and run it I get the bouncing icon for 30 seconds
or so then nothing...
If I am in console and try and manually fire it up in
/opt/openoffice.org-2.0/program$ soffice
or ./soffice as root I get the following errors:
/opt/openoffice.org-2.0/program/javaldx: error while loading shared
libraries: libuno_sal.so.3:cannot open shared object file: No such file
or directory
/opt/openoffice.org-2.0/program/pagein: error while loading shared
libraries: libstdc++.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file
or directory
/opt/openoffice.org-2.0/program/soffice.bin: error while loading shared
libraries: libvcl680li.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file
or directory
So I used locate to go find these...
locate libuno_sal.so.3:
/backup/opt/openoffice.org-2.0/program/libuno_sal.so.3.1.1
locate libstdc++.so.6:
/backup/opt/openoffice.org-2.0/program/libstdc++.so.6.1
locate libvcl680li.so:
/backup/opt/openoffice.org-2.0/program/libvcl680li.so.1.1
I am assuming that these versions of files are good enough for what OO
is looking for...
I am assuming that if I copy these to the right place (or change a path
or something) that OO can find them... or, are these like Windows dll's
and need to be registered in some way?
Which should I do and how should I do it?
