RTF is RTF unless it's RTFD. Whoops. The aforementioned text conversion
program will turn RTFD into RTF. RTFD is Apple-RTF-Bundle-Thingy.
Happens when you start inserting images into Textedit documents. The idea
was that like HTML, human beings should be able to read RTF. In practice
they can't because of all of the strings of garbage inserted that make
sense to an editor but not to a human. Only thing is, only Apple has RTFD
implementations so far.
(This only matters if you use Apple's Textedit to make RTF documents. If
you're using AbiWord, there will be no problems. I haven't tried to use
AbiWord on a Mac though.)
