I have done minimal talking, but it is supposedly a hid-compliant USB device, and when I plug it into my Ubuntu system the power manager pops up and shows that I havea battery plugged in. It does not, however, show the battery capacity correctly. I honestly haven't spent any time trying to make it work better than that, but it seems like it shouldn't be difficult to get it the rest of the way there.
OTOH, I have a ton of APC's at work, and they "just work".

I was talking to Mr O this morning and he says Tripp-Lites don't talk
to penguins.  Are you able to "manage" your Tripp-Lite from Linux?
