Topic: Making the impossible possible: Leveraging FOSS in K-12 technology systems

Quentin Hartman will be giving an overview of how Free and Open Source
Software can be used effectively in a K-12 educational environment to
meet needs that would otherwise go unmet. The presentation will attempt
to cover the following:

-Where does FOSS fit in K-12?
-How does educational pricing for software affect decision making?
-Specific examples of FOSS succeses seen in South Lane School District.

Quentin is the Technology Supervisor for South Lane School District in
Cottage Grove, Oregon. He has been working in IT in the K-12 educational
sector for the last 5 years.
