Harald,
I've inserted my comments into your original email. Please look for
"MRC->" to find them.

MRC-> a few questions to start with:
1.) did this work before and has now stopped? Or has it never worked?
2.) can you run "iwconfig" and "ifconfig" and send us those outputs
please? this will leet us know how your card is set up.
3.) Also, please give the Brand and model of wireless card, as well as
the output of the commands "lspci", and "lsmod" This will give us the
background about what hardware you have and what drivers are being used.
4.) Please check your wireless AP and let us know the following
information: Is it expecting a WEP key? What channel is it listening
on?

MRC-> Which version of open office are you running? Did you install
from RPM or compile yourself? This looks similar to KDE's resolved bug
#100849. YOu might try adding the following lines to your
~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals file:
[Development]
AutoCheckAccelerators=false
Let me know if that takes care of it.
