I tend to agree with who ever said they recommended using whatever
distribution installs the cleanest out of the box - at least for
new users.
My personal experience has been that this distribution has usually
been SuSE. I have had really good experiences installing it for
years and years and years.
On the other hand, most distributions have gotten easier and easier
to install. I am certainly impressed with Knoppix and Ubuntu, and
have had both of them do things that SuSE could not do out of the
box.
