It's impossible for me to determine anything useful by just looking at the isolated color swatches with no context. It would be far more useful if there were a mockup of a front page showing the proposed colors in use. Might it be useful to post a mockup of a front page with all the content nicely segregated into appropriate <DIV>s, and solicit stylesheets ala http://www.csszengarden.com/? >Should we go for the web 2.0 look with shiny buttons, gradients and >big friendly letters on the cover that spell out the words DONT PANIC. > >Or should we use a letterspace font in green on black to go for the >old-skool terminal look. I vote for consigning the term "web 2.0" to the trashbin of annoying buzzwords, alongside "information superhighway." Seriously, a bit of shiny glitz is probably a good idea, as long as we don't try to go overboard with it. The current euglug.org web page strikes me as having about the right amount. Most of the sites I've seen that make good use of the retro terminal look do so because they're full of retro content, like ASCII art or information on classic 1980's microcomputers. It just doesn't seem right for what we're doing. - Neil Parker _______________________________________________ EUGLUG mailing list [email protected] http://www.euglug.org/mailman/listinfo/euglug
