What check does it do? Where is it controlled?
If it's ext3, it's a parameter of each filesystem.
# tune2fs -l /dev/hda1 | egrep -i 'mount count|check'

Doh! I read that as "every 30 minutes" rather than "every
30 mounts".
Of course if you rarely boot your system this could stretch
out to a long time.
