Your interpretation is what they should have said.  But it isn't
what the words mean.  And in a court of law it is the latter
that is important.

If you take that interpretation, then almost every contract is one that you could not sign or agree to.

I have never before seen a contract which says I forfeit all
rights to my IP.

I use economy domains. They work fine. And if you really think that
it is a problem, then we should get a local LUG registrar together
so that we can have the rules that we want instead of the other way around.
