I don't think we have seen the last of the broadcast flag.  The TV
studios and the MPAA could resurrect the broadcast flag.  They both
pay a lot of money in lobbying in Washington DC.  I don't think there
is anything stopping the copy right holders from strong arming the
hardware manufactures.  This is why we have things like
High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP).  There have also
been some reports from Tivo users about content that is blocked  from
being recorded.  There are also reports of  time limits on how long
you can keep a copy of your recorded content.  MythTV to my knowledge
does not enforce or have any of these methods by default.
