I have a personal preference for network cams.  

        1)  Not bound by and distance requirement except the distance of
        a wireless network and/or ethernet cable
        2) Extremely easily configurable as you usually do not have to
        worry about driver up keep of the camera.
        
You could even build the net cams yourself.


Granite, my sight would never leave the monitor if there are attractive
girls working in the watched zone. ;-)
