The FAQ Darren speaks of is http://noscript.net/faq
rather than the FAQ link at the bottom of
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/722/

In mozilla, the "Install Now" link worked. In Firefox it
does absolutely nothing. Resting over the link causes the
text "Right-click to Download". Interestingly enough a
right-click provides a menu that doesn't include loading,
installing, or running.

I also tried the "direct download link to latest version".
It didn't work until I enabled software installs for noscript.net.
This was disabled by default.
Edit:Preferences:Web_Features:Allow_web_sites_to_install_software:Allowed_sites

The FAQ mentions things with Mozilla, but does not talk about
what I'm seeing. Mozilla simply lost the capability to load
web pages. I enter a URL and it takes no action. Choose a
bookmark and it takes no action. He's dead, Jim. The FAQ talks
about an error message. There is no error message. There is
no action.

So now that mozilla is trashed by this patch I need to change
firefox to my default browser. For instance when I click
on a URL in thunderbird I now need firefox to come up
rather than mozilla. Anybody know how to make this change?
I don't see it in the preferences.

Labels 2^63 and larger are currently reserved for future extensions.
Under many cosmological theories, the labels under 2^63 are adequate
to cover the entire expected life span of the universe; in this case
no extensions will be necessary. --- D.J.Bernstein, in a proposal for

Mozilla support/compatibility/workaround issues.
