I've just bt'ed a livecd of the Vyatta OFR (open flexible router)
which is a debian based distribution built around the XORP project.

The XORP project http://www.xorp.org/
also has a livecd

both of these support most commonly availiable interface types
and your basic suite of routing protocols (RIP,OSPF,BGP,IGMP)
and support both ipv4 and ipv6.

The Vyatta version also support VRRP (http://www.ietf.org/ids.by.wg/vrrp.html)
which means you could conceivably use this as part of a high availability setup.

The downside for both of these is that they are pretty much tied to
the x86 platform.

Me, I'm just finally getting around to setting up my wireless, the
"right way" which is to say public and priivate networks and only
authenticated clients allowed to route to both...
