FOR WHAT: HELP KEEP EPS BLOCK FOAM (expanded polystyrene foam, commonly referred to as Styrofoam) OUT OF OUR LANDFILL
DATE: WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 15TH
TIME: 10:00 AM TO 6:00 PM
LOCATION: CRRC’S NEW RECYCLING FACILITY! AT 2101 WEST 10TH AVENUE
HOW TO SIGN UP: CALL LORRAINE AT 731-9642
WHAT WILL I DO?: DIRECT TRAFFIC, HELP DONORS UNLOAD THEIR VEHICLES, OFFER BROCHURES, PROVIDE EDUCATION, HAVE FUN!
IF YOU VOLUNTEER, BRING YOUR FOAM, AND WE WILL WAIVE THE RECYCLING FEE IN THANKS FOR YOUR TIME AND ENERGY!~
FOR HOW LONG?: Shifts are as short as 1 hour, to all day! Lemme know what you can do!
EPS FOAM IS 98% AIR. IT DOES NOT COMPACT OR BIODEGRADE. Don’t throw it away. EPS can be recycled into new packaging and into new plastic materials. Before you drop off your EPS, please follow these simple EPS recycling etiquette guidelines:
* Drop off only EPS that is clean, dry and uncontaminated with other materials.
* Remove any foreign materials such as tape, stickers, labels, paint and cardboard.
* Contain the EPS in a bag, bundle or box for easy loading and unloading.
