You can do this with any of the wrt's that you can upgrade the flash 
(wrt54g, 45gs, versions 1-4 are the easiest, v5-7 are possible, but more 
difficult).
Ive done this with hyperwrt, its called client mode, you use the router 
as a client over ethernet. The really cool thing about doing this is 
that you can make a super client (crank up the radio, add high gain 
antennae, directional antennae, ...)
