IMO, we need STUFF. Natural time is marked by external stuff, like sun,
moon, tides, etc;
in 1931 there was a push to take calendrical control from the Vatican and
re-establish natural
units for months (see http://www.tortuga.com/eng/get_started/tutorial/2.phpand
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calendar_reform )...

This type of calendar, a 28 day-calendar, was actively supported by the
*International
Chamber of Commerce *in 1931. The calendar change was supported by people
such as *Eastman Kodak *and *Mahatma Gandhi*.

Seriously, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orbit_of_the_Moon#The_lunar_monthand
13 moonths would be useful if we weren't stuck on quartering the year.

For contrasting views with all their assumptions, see
http://archives.cnn.com/2002/TECH/science/05/29/time.money/ and

As for higher granularities of time, well, we need those to keep up with
smaller stuff; re: Moore's law and such. Just my 2π :)

On the contrary, we NEED time. Without time, everything would happen all
at once.
